Arizona American Legion clubs are still able to open SAFELY

Governor Ducey’s announcement shows Arizona businesses what information the government is looking at for a signal to reopen so that businesses can watch for themselves when to open and how to do so with utmost safety in mind. He is talking about Bars among other businesses.

Arizona American Legion Posts, with canteens for Legion Family members, are considered by statute as RESTAURANTS in Arizona. (https://www.azleg.gov/ars/42/05074.htm)

Posts still need to follow state guidelines.

In the announcement of 8.10.2020; Bars were shown what the Governor will use to decide to open which can be found at:

In the meantime Posts should conduct their activities following the guidelines for Restaurants which are found at:

American Legion Posts are not Bars. We are private veteran clubs who operate canteens under Series 14 permits. Other restaurants are Series 12.

Leaders can see the data offered for other businesses at

You will see that on this date, 8.11.2020, Arizona counties are mostly above the threshold needed for safely reopening; referred to as “SUBSTANTIAL” hazard for public contracting disease.

Please use this dashboard for understanding and PLEASE, operate within rules for Arizona Restaurants for safer operations in order that case report numbers and hospitalizations will continue to decrease and our entire community of businesses can look forward to opening sooner.

Safe but Strong Everyone!
